Report for 2nd day (14/03/2025) regarding work shop on Medical Ethics, Good Clinical Practices, Good Laboratory Practices and NIeCer 102: Ethics Review of Health Research

The workshop started with registration of the Post Graduate students. 40 students were allotted for day 2

1st session started with hands on traning: NIeCer 102: Ethics Review of Health Research by Dr. Vinay M Associate Professor Department of Community medicine MIMS, Mandya

 There was a group photo session

The session was continued by Dr. Sreedhar Associate Professor Department of Forensic Medicine MIMS, Mandya on Medical negligence and Duties of Doctor

The 3rd session was conducted by Dr.  Subhas B P Associate Professor Department of Community Medicine MIMS, Mandya on Bioethics in Medical practice

The session was continued by Dr. Manju B Associate Professor Department of General Medicine MIMS, Mandya on Good Clinical Practices

The session was continued post lunch By Dr. Archana Assistant Professor Department of Anesthesia MIMS, Mandya on Bioethics in Emergency care & OT

The Last session was conducted Dr. Srinivasa Murthy Assistant Professor Department of Biochemistry MIMS, Mandya on Good Laboratory Practices

1st session started with lecture by Dr. Vinay M on Bioethics in Medical Research

After the first session Inauguration ceremony was done by watering the plants by Dr. Narasimhaswamy P Director MIMS, Mandya, Dr. Hanumanth Prasad Principal MIMS, Mandya Dr. Shiva Kumar Medical Superintendent MIMS, Mandya, Dr. Harish B R Head and Professor Department of Community Medicine MIMS, Mandya, Dr. Vinay M Associate Professor Department of Community Medicine MIMS, Mandya.

Dr. Narasimhaswamy P Director MIMS, Mandya and Dr. Shiva Kumar Medical Superintendent MIMS, Mandya gave a inauguration talk and speech on Bio Ethics

Dr. Hanumanth Prasad Principal MIMS, Mandya gave a speech on Bio Ethics in Medical Practice

The inauguration was concluded by group photo

Poster and Collage Competition on Diabetes and HIV for World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day, observed annually on December 1st, is a global opportunity to unite in the fight against HIV. This year, a unique Poster and Collage Competition was organized on 02-12-2024, focusing on the themes of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) and HIV, aiming to raise awareness about their impacts on health.

Objective

·        Educate participants on diabetes and HIV.

·        Encourage creative expressions to promote preventive measures and healthy lifestyles.

·        Empower individuals to break the stigma associated with HIV and chronic conditions like diabetes.

Participants

·        75 3rd year MBBS students for the collage competition and other 75 for the poster competition.

The Poster and Collage Competition beautifully demonstrated the power of art in public health advocacy. It reminded everyone that awareness and understanding are the first steps toward a healthier, more inclusive society. As the red ribbons waved alongside vibrant collages and posters, participants and spectators alike left the event inspired to take small but impactful actions in their communities. Top 5 posters and collages has been selected and prizes were distributed.

 Report of Quiz conducted on systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation

Quiz was conducted in Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences on 8/11/2024 for 1st year MBBS students

A total of 150 students participated, 2 students in 1 team therefore, 75 teams participated in the quiz

4 rounds were conducted, the 1 round contained 20 MCQs 1 mark each

Top 43 teams were selected for 2nd round, a total of 10 MCQs in 2nd round,

Top 19 teams were selected for 3rd round. 10 MCQs were given

Top 9 teams were selected for 4th round. 10 MCQs were given and top 2 highest scoring teams (1.Kusuma M & Aimann Sahafat, 2. Prinisha A & Sai Vanitha P) were selected for taluk level quiz

Family Adoption Medical Camp conducted at Molekoppalu PHC on 25/10/2024 

 

Family Adoption Medical Camp was organised for the residents of Molekoppalu and other villagers also participated in the camp. Camp was conducted in 25th October 2024.

GRBS testing and Haemoglobin level estimation was included in the camp. Based on the chief complaints, patients were advised to take treatment by speciality doctors. School students from respective village were included in the camp.

District level QUIZ Competition for school students

 District level QUIZ Competition for school students

Ø  Quiz was started at around 10.30 am on 13/09/2024 after inauguration ceremony in fourth floor lecture hall. 96 participants  had taken part in the quiz of which  48 teams (2 in each team). There were total 6 rounds – 3 preliminary rounds, 1 quarter final round, 1 semifinal round and grand finale round.  Top 4 teams are selected based on all the 3 rounds – quarter finals, semifinals and grand finale

Family Adoption Medical Camp conducted at Kothathi PHC on 24/07/2024 

 

Family Adoption Medical Camp was organised for the residents of Kothathi, Bevanahalii and other villagers also participated in the camp. Camp was conducted in 24th July 2024.  MIMS undergraduates students had put up a street play regarding Dengue awareness and Menstrual hygiene.

GRBS testing, Hemoglobin level estimation and Blood Grouping was included in the camp. Based on the chief complaints, patients were advised to take treatment by speciality doctors. School students from respective villages were included in the camp.
