On 18th March 2020, Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences in collaboration with District Health and Family Welfare Department, Mandya and Indian Medical Association conducted awareness programme regarding COVID - 19 for all teaching faculty, Residents, Post Graduate  students and Interns.

Dr Subhash Babu, Associate Professor of Department of Community Medicine gave a talk on Epidemiology of COVID 19 and Preventive measures to be taken

Department of Community Medicine, Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences in collaboration with District Health and Family Welfare Department, Mandya, Indian Medical association, Karnataka State Chapter of association Of Gynaecologic Oncologists of India, KIDWAI Cancer Institute, Bengaluru conducted a Cancer screening camp for  Breast cancer and Cervical cancer  on 10th march 2020 at Primary Health Center, Kothathi, Mandya 

More than 400 women were screened 

Pap smear was done in women > 25year age group
        Mammography  was done in women > 45year age group


                          Screening was done by Dr Shobha And Dr Nirupama from KIDWAI Cancer Institute, Bengaluru

Theme of World Health Day 2019: Universal Health Coverage; Everyone, everywhere


World Health Day quiz competition for MBBS students of MIMS, Mandya was conducted on 8th April 2019. Quiz was conducted by 1st year and 2nd year postgraduates under the guidance of Dr Vinay M (Nodal person). The quiz programme was conducted in the presence of Dr Harish BR,
Professor and Head of the department and all other faculty members of the department.

Total  20 teams, per team consisting of 2 members participated in the elimination round and 4 teams which topped were qualified for finals.


Venue: 4th-floor Auditorium
Audience: 4th and 6th term UG students
Duration: 2 hours


Totally 5 rounds was conducted in final quiz contest. At the end of the quiz competition prizes were distributed to the winners by Dr G M Prakash, Dr Harish M R, Dr Harish B R and Dr Vinay M.

First prize winners: Diksha D Biradar, Thejaswini M (6th term)
Second prize winners: Bharath G, Balaji D ( 6th term)
Third prize winners: Charan Amogh Raj K R, Harshith B K ( 6th term)
Consolation prize: Vyshnavi G, Thejaswini M R ( 4th term)
