WORLD RABIES DAY - 2018

On the occasion of World Rabies Day 2018, Department of  Community Medicine, Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences, Mandya, had organized Rabies awareness programme for school and college students of MVM high school and PU college held at CHC Keelara, Mandya Taluk and District on 28th September.



Dr. Sudhir and Dr. Bindiya gave a talk on Rabies.

Question and answer session was held at the end after lecture and video.

Queries were answered by Dr. Sudhir and Dr. Bindiya.

                            WORLD BREAST FEEDING WEEK (AUGUST 1st-7th) 2018




On the occasion of world breast feeding week 2018, Department of Community Medicine has organised quiz competition for  7th term under graduate students on 7th August 2018.

Audience : 7th term Under Graduate students
Duration : 1 hour

At the end of the quiz competition prizes were distributed to winners by Faculties of Department of Community Medicine

School Health Programme – 2018

Team of Department of community Medicine consisting of Dr Jahnavi Rajagopal,  Dr Siddalingappa Hugar, Dr Padmaja Swamy, Mr Kalappa M, Mrs Anitha P, five Postgraduate students and eight interns visited Sri Sathya Sharadanikethanam school on 24th July 2018 and health checkup was done. 300 Students studying from 6th standard to 10th standard were examined between 10 am to 4 pm. 
  



The health checkup included detailed history taking and examination of students from head to toe, height and weight measurement, neck circumference, distant vision and otoscopic examination for those with ear complaints. Appropriate treatment was prescribed for identified health problems. Advise regarding personal hygiene and importance of eating nutritious food was given to students. The programme was co-ordinated by Dr Siddalingappa Hugar

HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAMME ON DRUG ABUSE
AT KERAGODU EDUCATION SOCIETY’S® GOVERNMENT AIDED HIGH SCHOOL, KERAGODU

Report
Department of Community Medicine, Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences, Mandya had organized Health education programme on “drug abuse” on 13th July 2018 at Keragodu Education Society’s® Government aided High-school, Keragodu. Dr. Shambhulinga Kambale spoke about “drug abuse”. Programme was coordinated by Dr. Vinay M. Reasons for Drug Addiction, Symptoms of drug addiction; Adverse effects on health, socio-economic consequences of drug abuse and prevention of drug abuse were explained to the students. Around 60 students and school teachers attended the programme. The queries of the students were addressed.

On 18th July 2018 drawing competition on the drug abuse was conducted at the same school. 45 students were participated in the drawing competition.
          Prizes were distributed to the winners of drawing competition
