TYPHOID VACCINATION PROGRAMME - 2019
Report
Typhoid vaccination programme was organized by Department of Community Medicine, Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences, Mandya.
Typhoid vaccination certification is required for all food handlers as per Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
Venue: Mandya District Co-Operative Milk Producers Societies Union Limited (MANMUL) Gejjalagere, Maddur Tq, Mandya district. The programme was conducted form 7th January to 9th January 2019 for 3 days.
Team of Community Medicine staff, postgraduate students, interns and nursing staff, led by Dr. Harish B. R, Head of Department, Department of Community Medicine and Dr. P Subhas Babu visited Mandya District Co-Operative Milk Producers Societies Union Limited Gejjalagere, Maddur Tq, Mandya district. Clinical examination was done on 525 workers. Typhoid vaccination was given for 243 workers out of 525 workers.
Population covered: All the food handlers at Mandya District Co-Operative Milk Producers Societies Union Limited Gejjalagere, Maddur tq, Mandya district. The food handlers those were already vaccinated in previous year are excluded since they are protected from typhoid fever, but clinical examination was done for them also.
Preliminary data of the patient is first taken then past history, general physical examination, blood pressure measurement and systemic examination done to check the eligibly after that typhoid vaccine was given and monitored for 20 minutes.



Typhoid vaccination programme was coordinated by Dr. P Subhas Babu with the help of all staff members of the department of Community Medicine, MIMS Mandya.

Clinical examination was done on 525 workers. Typhoid vaccination was given for 243 workers out of 525 workers.

Subsequently Typhoid Vaccination Certificates were issued to food handlers those who underwent health check up and vaccination.
