Recent updates in ‘National Tuberculosis Elimination Program’ Organized by NTEP Core Committee, MIMS &

Department of Community Medicine, MIMS

Venue: 3rd Floor Lecture Hall, MIMS

Time: 9:00am to 1:15pm

 

The session aimed to equip healthcare professionals especially Post graduate students with the latest information and developments in the field of tuberculosis management. A total of 85 first year post graduate students and 16 other participants attended the CME

The programme was inaugurated by

Dr Harish B R, Professor and Head of the dept of community medicine, MIMS

We had an inclusion of experts from different backgrounds who enhanced the overall educational value of the session. Here's an overview of the speakers involved in the CME,

·       Introduction to NTEP & Role of PGs in NTEP by Dr Subhash babu P, Associate Professor Department of Community Medicine.

·       Programmatic Management of Tuberculosis Preventive Therapy by

Dr Ashok Bharadwaj, NTEP, National Taskforce chairman

·       Adverse events management in TB treatment by Dr Anil S Deputy Director, NTEP Health and Family welfare, Govt of Karnataka

·       Role of Artificial Intelligence tools towards END TB by Dr Balu P S Zonal Taskforce Chairman & Director, Centre for Digital Health, Artificial intelligence, Research and Training Basaveshwara Medical College & Hospital, Chitradurga

The CME began with history and organogram of NTEP, following that we had sessions regarding treatment and diagnostic procedures in TB, adverse events in management, progress of Tb elimination in India and ended with the role of Artificial Intelligence tools as an AID towards END TB.
